Matthew McGlathery is a local personal injury attorney, with over a decade of experience providing legal representation for people in our local community of Southwest Louisiana and all over the country. He joined the SWLA Injury Attorney team as one of our experienced Of Counsel advisors in 2025, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice. With more than a decade of legal experience, Matthew has earned a reputation for his passionate and steadfast advocacy on behalf of his clients.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Northwestern State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009, and his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2012. He is admitted to practice before the Louisiana State Courts and the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana and currently leads his own private practice at McGlathery Law, LLC.
Primarily focused on personal injury law, Matthew also handles hurricane claims, environmental land claims, estate planning, and successions. Over the years, he has secured significant recoveries for his clients through his unwavering dedication to delivering quality results.
In addition to his legal practice, Matthew is an active member of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, and Louisiana Association for Justice. He has also been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the prestigious 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in Louisiana, an honor that highlights his exceptional skills, dedication, and impact in the field of civil litigation.
