In the Commmunity
Invested In The Communities We Call Home
The SWLA Injury Attorneys law firm was founded by attorneys Mike Williamson, Rachel Couvillion, and Jason Bell based on a shared belief that the people of Lake Charles and all of Louisiana deserve legal counsel they can trust to put them first. This is not only a foundational principle of our law practice, but a guiding light in all we do.
Although our community has experienced severe hardships over the past several years, we have also shown our strength, unity, and resilience in times of adversity. At SWLA Injury Attorneys, we are committed to investing in the communities we call home through sponsorships, philanthropic endeavors, and community outreach. We are proud to call Lake Charles home and invite you to join us at our next community event!
2024 Travis “Bowie” Andrepont Scholarship Winners
We awarded each of these DeQuincy High School seniors with $1,000 scholarships based on their grade point average and essay submissions, judged by the widow of the late Travis “Bowie” Andrepont, Paiton Mire, as well as Bowie’s former English teacher, Sarun Keller Wamsley.
After working with Paiton Mire on Bowie’s case we were moved to make a commitment to fund this scholarship. We are honored to continue this yearly scholarship in memory of Bowie and to invest in the bright minds of SWLA.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana
We are proud to be a 𝙋𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧 level sponsor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana! This incredible organization invests in the most important members of our community—our kids. With their mission “to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth,” BBBS of Southwest Louisiana is making a difference in lives of our children and the future of our communities one Big-Little match at a time. Donations to BBBS of Southwest Louisiana support the organizations mission by funding the staff, resources, training, and facilities to run and even expand their various youth programs. In 2022, 93% of program participants improved or maintained grades and academic performance, 95% graduated from high school, and 90% avoided the juvenile justice system. Perhaps the most heart-warming statistic of all: 95% felt they had a special adult in their corner. Visit https://www.bbbsswla.org/ to donate or get involved.
